Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funding Information
The American Rescue Plan Act (“ARP Act”) was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden on March 11th, 2021, authorizing approximately $1.9 trillion in federal stimulus funds to continue combating the COVID crisis. The core of the ARP Act’s aid to state and local governments are the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.
Eleanor has receive a total of $690,772.76 in economic relief provided by the American Rescue Plan.
At a regularly scheduled Council Meeting on February 17, 2022 the council voted in favor of transferring $140,734 from the American Rescue Plan account to the town’s general fund. This amount was calculated to be the loss of revenue from 2020.
At a regularly scheduled Council Meeting on October 20, 2022 and on November 17, 2022 the council voted in favor of transferring $45,000 and $50,000 from the American Rescue Plan account to the Storm Water fund to offset cost of Storm Water Improvements at Marble Drive/Roosevelt Blvd., Nutmeg/Roosevelt Blvd., and other future projects being discussed.
At a regularly scheduled Council Meeting on November 3, 2022 the council voted to appropriate $30,000 from the ARP account to make upgrades to the three rental rooms in town. These upgrades include new tables and chairs, new appliances, upgrading the kitchen area and other similar improvements.
At a regularly scheduled Council Meeting on December 1, 2022 the council voted to appropriate $50,000 for costs related to closing on the new property by the Industrial Park. The plans for this property is to create a new recreation area for the town’s residents.
At a regularly scheduled Council Meeting on December 15, 2022 the council approved a total amount of $12,000 to be split up between the town’s active employees for Hazard Recognition Pay for those who worked through the Covid Pandemic of 2020.
At a regularly scheduled Council Meeting on January 19, 2023 the council voted to appropriate $24,558 in fund to pay for shelter maintenance and new metal roofs for all 9 shelters in the Town Park and Eleanor Park.
As of 2-15-2023, the current available account balance in Eleanor’s American Rescue Plan account is $338,840.76. A total of $247,374 has been spent and $104,558 has been appropriated to projects.
